I need to fix my camera.

I have an objectively very cool point and shoot that I was gifted, an Olympus MJu V. It is made from metal and very sturdy. It is pretty compact and has an interesting clamshell opening for the lens. What I would REALLY like to know is why my photos from this camera, which cost what I assume to be too much money (we are talking in the hundreds here), almost always look worse than the ones from a Pentax PC-550 that I got from the thrift for about 10 dollars. This happens every time, almost without fail.

Yes, the light leaks are fun and give the photos a cool aesthetic, if you will. But the damn thing won’t stay open if I just take a breath while trying to take a photo, the focus is inconsistent, and frankly it is making me angry. All to say that something that is “nicer” isn’t always better. I’ll take my old trusty Pentax any day.

Anyways, I will stop complaining. Here are some photos that made me angry.
